Why write your Story

We believe that the world of science and technology, has long been dry and drab without the stories that actually educates and Inspires - more than theories and equations. There are wonderful stories with magical insights, in the hearts and minds of everyday experts like you. But we as a community of technical experts, have not done a good job of using the internet and capturing these simple and insightful, stories for the rest of the world. That is why “Technology” has long remained a "misunderstood" word in the Internet era. Dictionary meaning of technology relates to application of scientific knowledge in industry - the branch of knowledge dealing with applied science, but internet search results tilt heavily towards “Information Technology” - computer science, software programming, internet, etc. Information about machinery, equipment and everyday application of scientific knowledge has taken back seat.

Consider this - by the time Internet came to India in 1995, people having +10 years of experience in any industry in India were +35 years old and their brains were already hard wired in the old way of thinking. At +55 years of age now, people in this category are at the far end of their career. These are the people who have the insight and understanding of the complexities and intricacies of the technical world. But often they are wired in the old ways of doing things. They may be connected to the online world but they do not belong there they are not the natives there. That is the reason why such information from the technology world is not abundant on the internet. But they are our knowledge banks, the best story tellers that we have.

We believe there are people who want to read and there are people who need to read these insider stories of the seemingly complex world of science and technology. And we believe the emotional anchors that bind engineers and tech-professionals lifelong to projects, equipment, concepts, methods and learnings must be written, captured, or told in a language that will make sense to a world that thinks technology means IT.

And what is that language?
Think of most of the learning that you have picked up since your college days or even during college days. I learned more chatting with friend in the canteen than in the classroom. That is because someone was telling me a story out of what was taught in the class. Because often times in real life we learn more from, a chance encounter with an expert, a small little easy experiment, or a comparison or an analysis that you did out of curiosity, or some googling you did that you never did earlier. These small efforts remove our misunderstanding and help us to really understand something well enough which earlier seemed very complex. Such understandings have emotional anchors and the learnings latch on to us, stay on with us and influence us in real life.
